How to Brew Iced Coffee with a Coffee Press

Hi, my name’s Brian and I’m here to teach you how to make iced coffee at home. So, we are going to start with freshly ground coffee. It should be coarsely ground like sea salt. Now, the amount is important. Normally with a coffee press you’d use two tablespoons.

But for iced coffee you’re actually going to brew it double strength. So, you’ll need four tablespoons for every six ounces of water. And then we’ll fill the press with hot water. And now we’re going to let it brew for four minutes. Next you're going to press it down slowly.

And then finally we’re ready to serve, so we’re just going to fill your glass with ice, and then pour it straight from the coffee press. So, now you’ve just make iced coffee concentrate, so when the ice melts it’s going to dilute it and balance it out just right. So, to customize it you can add things like milk, simple syrup, or even a scoop of ice cream for a really tasty treat.

And it’s best to use a bright acidic coffee. As the acidity comes through when it’s brewed hot and then poured over the ice.

I love how deliciously refreshing it is. It could be snowing outside and I could still drink it, so I think it’s the perfect beverage to drink all year round..
